Have you found a lost dove?
Most white dove release professionals will have a band on one or both legs of their birds. If one of their birds are lost because of weather or some unforeseen problem, the leg band will help a caring person that finds the bird help to get it back to his home loft.
EXAMPLE
 If the band has NWDRS.net on it, it belongs to one of our members. Perhaps we can assist you in finding the owner by contacting us and telling where the bird was found and giving the information that is on the leg band. EXAMPLE
 AU = American Racing Pigeon Union 2003 = Year The Bird Was Banded AVI = Club Code 3234534 = Individual Bird (Serial #) contact American Racing Pigeon Union If the band has different letters than AU, it may be another organization.
