Have you found a lost bird?

Most white dove release professionals place a seamless leg band on their birds. If one of their birds is lost because of weather or some unforeseen problem, the leg band will help a caring person that finds the bird help to get it back to its home loft. The band typically contains the following information: the national organization that has registered the bird, the year the bird was hatched and banded, the club the band is registered to, and the unique number assigned to that pigeon.
A band that has NWDRS.net on it belongs to one of our members and we can assist you in finding the owner. Please contact Linda at NWDRS@Idaho-Doves.com, or you can call or text 208-935-5199 with the information that is on the leg band, where the bird was found, and the condition it is in (healthy, wounded etc.).

If the band has club letters other than NWDRS, you can find a listing of clubs and who to contact on the AU's website. If the band has different letters than the AU, it is another organization. Please visit the AU's page on lost birds at the American Racing Pigeon Union for more information.
Thank you for taking the time to care for and help return a lost bird to its home.
